Description:
The 18-Inch Raw Water Main Improvements Project for the City of Elgin consisted of the construction of a new raw water transmission line to increase system capacity and improve reliability of water delivery to the treatment plant.
The work included installation of 18” and 24” PVC raw water mains, ductile iron fittings, butterfly and gate valves, air release assemblies, and steel casing installation by boring. Additional activities involved removal and abandonment of existing 12” and 6” water lines, fire hydrant removal, erosion control measures, hydromulch seeding, and stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP) implementation.
